Everyone knows the snowboarding and skiing in Niseko is awesome, but one of best things about the Niseko-Hirafu village is the nightlife. The village of Niseko Hirafu has a fantastic variety of restaurants to suit every palate and budget. The wide array features everything from local deli’s, pubs, cafes, and fine dining establishments.

One of the best dining experiences while in Niseko, is to eat at one of the many small and atmospheric Izakaya’s (Japanese Pubs). Try the endless variety of grilled Yakatori Skewers or some tasty Gyoza (fried Japanese dumpling) and wash it all down with a pint of frosty local beer.
Aside from truly spectacular Japanese food, there are also a large number of restaurants that specialize in Italian, Korean, Indonesian, Mongolian, Mexican and other culinary delights.
During peak times in Niseko, it is recommended to make a reservation for dinner in advance as the restaurants are cozy but generally quite small.
After dinner or a full day of skiing, if you would like to kick on and have a few drinks, don’t miss the cozy, quirky, intimate bars that Niseko Hirafu is famous for. Some local favourites are Jam Bar, Maki Sake Lounge at J-Sekka, IceBar, Wild Bill’s, Dragon, Pow Pow, Java Bar, Barunba plus many more!!!!
Bang Bang
A Niseko original and still one of the best. Bang is a small quirky Japanese restaurant in the upper village. They are famous for their grilled seafood, wagyu beef and an amazing variety of yakatori skewers. Also see Bang Bang 2, which is on the main road in front of the original Bang Bang.

Situated in the upper village on the ground floor of the Suiboko apartment building, Ab-bu-cha 2 is one of the larger, more modern restaurants in the village. The fare is casual Japanese and their food is excellent. Their specialty is Hokkaido Hot-pot.
Kabuki 1
This is a great little restaurant in the middle village. Make your own Okonomiyaki (Japanese savoury pancake) or BBQ meats on your personal hot plate. Great fun!

Lupicia is a modern Asian-European fusion restaurant on the outskirts of the Hirafu village (on the way to Niseko Village). They generally do set course lunches & dinners of 3 or 5 courses and also a-la-carte.If you don’t like one of the dishes the chefs are usually happy to arrange a substitute. Lupicia has top quality food and an excellent wine list. Check out the gourmet deli behind the restaurant when you are there.
Kakashi
Kakashi is a tiny Izakaya(Japanese Pub) in the upper village, on the road between the Welcome Centre and the Gondola. Great food and very reasonable prices. Try the fried squid. This restaurant is great for guests staying in Niseko Landmark View or Gondola Chalets, as it’s only a 2 minute walk.

At Gemtem restaurant you sit on cushions on the floor, around low tables, in a huge Mongolian tent. The food is a mixture of Asian cuisine and the atmosphere excellent. Gemtem is situated just outside the main village (on the road to Niseko Village) but have a pick-up and drop home service for diners.

This is a great little authentic Japanese restaurant in Kutchan. Their fare has all the Japanese favourites, including Sushi, tempura, teppanyaki and Okonomiyaki. This little place is definitely worth the trip to Kutchan!

The Barn restaurant has a large and striking glass façade and is situated in the Hirafu middle village. The décor is modern and the food is European. The menu is a set course and consists of a number of small plates – degustation style. The Barn also has a great cocktail bar upstairs for a few drinks after dinner.
Wild Bills
A Niseko landmark, for many years Wild Bill’s was a Mexican restaurant and pool bar. While the famous bar has changed little – the restaurant has recently changed cuisine to classic Japanese. The menu boasts delights such as slow cooked pork, Hokkaido Venison and the classic local hot-pots. After 10pm the bar downstairs fires up and kicks on into the early hours of the morning.
Enya
Enya is a small and vibrant Izakaya style restaurant in Kutchan. They specialise in charcoal grilled yakatori skewers, but also have a range of other Japanese dishes. Enya also has an amazing variety of Sake for you to try. Kampai!!
